Maximus Circus

In Italian via del Circo Massimo
Located in the valley between the Palatino and the Aventino, it is the largest circus in Rome, dating from the Tarquinius era. Enlarged and often rebuilt, it could contain more than 200.000 spectators. The way where horses ran was more than one kilometer longand some shops and taverns were installed under the arches.
