Rome famous squares

Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo
Navone square (Piazza Navona) was built on the remnants of the The Stadium of Domitian in 86 and is decorated with 3 fountains (among which the Fountain of the Four Rivers) and St Agnes Church.
Spain Square (Piazza di Spagna) was given this name due to the fact she was long considered as a Spanish territory. Thus when we were on this place, we had to follow the Spanish laws and not the city rules. The square has also been French. The construction of the Trinità dei Monti church, at the top of the big stairs, was ordered by Louis XIII, King of France and Navarre.
The People Square (Piazza del Popolo) was planned at the end of the 18th century by the architects of the popes Pius VI and Pius VII. At the centre stands an obelisk from the Ramses II period (13th century BC)
