Vatican

The State of the Vatican City was instaured in 1929 according to the Lateran Treaty between Italy and the Holy See. It spreads over Il s’étend sur 44 hectares and includes St Peter’s square, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Apostolic Palace, the Sistine Chapel. It is closed by high walls and has its own administration, Pontifical Swiss Guard, post office, banque, radio station and supermarkets. The vatican museums and St Peter’s basilica are the main attractions.
